In this two-day course, you will learn about the role of the SAFe Scrum Master. Traditional Scrum Master training focuses on the team level. This training addresses the importance of Scrum in SAFe in a lean-agile organization. You will learn how to successfully prepare and execute a Program Increment (PI), which enables alignment across all SAFe levels of an organization. Furthermore, core elements of scaled agile development are explored and it is demonstrated how Scrum can be applied throughout the entire company. You will learn how to support teams as a servant leader and how to coach them so that they can deliver high business value. This training serves as preparation for the SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certification.

Scrum is one of the most widely used agile working methods in the banking sector. This seminar focuses on the role of the Scrum Master and is closely aligned with the development team. Our team recently coached several Master Journeys at a major German bank, consisting of multiple Scrum teams and up to 120 project participants. Participants learn from experienced agile coaches who have firsthand experience with implementation, adoption, optimization, learning curves, and conflicts with line management.

Training content

Key components of agile development such as

  • Scrum, especially in the context of SAFe
  • Role, responsibilities, and characteristics of the Scrum Master
  • Transparency about the progress of an iteration
  • Collaboration and synchronization of multiple teams in a program
  • Improvements through Inspect & Adapt
  • Ways to better meetings, better collaboration, and dealing with conflicts

Requirements

  • Training is conducted in English, the documents are in English.
  • Experience in agile processes.
  • Certification as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or SAFe Agilist is an advantage.

Requirements and online test certification

The online test for SAFe Scrum Master certification (SSM) is conducted in English. Participants who pass this test receive:

  • SAFe Scrum Master certificate
  • 1 year membership as a SAFe Scrum Master
  • SAFe SSM branding kit with the SSM certificate badge
